The book investigates more than two hundred years’ development of painting academy in Ming Dynasty from a ‘historical’ perspective, and tries to give a clearer picture of painting academy in Ming Dynasty.

Zhejiang University Journal of Art and Archaeology is a publication focusing on art history and archaeological researches whose compilation was started in 2014 by the Research Center of Arts and Archeology of Zhejiang University.
